Daguerreotype of Funeral Procession
After lying in state at the U.S. Capitol, Clay's remains were transported to Kentucky for burial. Clay was honored along the route, and was received at Ashland by his widow Lucretia. A large procession took Clay's body from Ashland to his burial place at the Lexington Cemetery.
On July 6, 1852, Abraham Lincoln delivered a eulogy for Henry Clay.
